Our Energy Expertise. Your Energy Savings

Learn how our extensive energy supplier network, hyper-competitive pricing and consultative approach will deliver the best results for you:

  • ECX Marketplace platform: Our point of difference centers around a unique, proprietary cloud-based pricing tool that empowers customers to test multiple pricing events simultaneously—including contract-term length, pricing structures, green power mixes, segmentation by region, and load type–to get results in real-time.
  • Hyper-competitive pricing: Our innovative online pricing events are designed to compel suppliers to deliver the lowest possible price to outbid the competition. The format shortens the supplier bidding window, reducing supplier risk premiums. With an extensive network of energy suppliers spanning North America, we can guarantee greater competition and lower prices.
  • Experience you can count on: Each member of our team comes with over 20 years of energy experience. We offer market intel and unbiased guidance to optimize an energy procurement strategy and minimize risk. And it’s all simpler with one point of contact for all your energy needs.
  • Renewable energy expertise: EnerConnex helps organizations reach their internal sustainability targets with on-site energy offset measures and assists with purchasing renewable energy sources. We can help with energy supplier negotiations by including a designated percentage of green power within your agreement and keeping a detailed report on your carbon footprint reduction.

Exceptional Benefits with Innovation Energy Group

IEG advisors understand the nuances of power generation, distribution and peak-load pricing—and how small changes in your operation can yield significant benefits to your budget. We are experts at online reverse energy auctions and market hedging. Our procurement team can also show you how aggregation planning can work for your business in the wholesale market pools that we have established. It’s not uncommon to save as much as 20 percent in your power costs. In addition, you receive market intelligence information that is credible and valuable for financial planning of energy up to five years in advance.

Deregulation of electricity and gas markets has brought opportunities, but supply-chain professionals may not understand all of the intricacies of these markets. Power generation is a highly regulated commodity, and procurement of this vital supply must look at both pure commodity cost as well as pending government regulation that affects both local distribution costs and tariffs.

Much of what you are reading about here is already underway. Coal has faded in favor of nimble power generation solutions that rely on natural gas derived from the shale regions. New turbine plants are already 15 percent more efficient than even existing natural gas facilities, and these combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plants are likely to replace aging nuclear generation in the Northeast.

Why does this matter to you? New generation facilities alter the markets in both dramatic and subtle ways. Our experts regularly decipher these subtleties and help you “see around the corner” to maximize opportunity for you and limit your negative exposure. We also track the financial health of 49 publicly traded generation companies to ensure you are buying from stable generators capable of fulfilling contracts today and years from now.

Discovery Process

The first step in the process is to evaluate your energy consumption patterns and to advise on the effectiveness of your procurement strategy. Many supply chain managers are more focused on energy costs and can miss the outrageous brokerage fees (adders) that are included in energy pricing. The second step is to reduce your energy consumption. We offer a no-cost, one-day energy audit where IEG will dispatch a team of licensed engineers to your facility to audit your equipment and operation. From that investigation, we will isolate areas in operations that we believe are underperforming and request permission to undertake a more intensive investigation which will produce an investment-grade project analysis. The third and final step is to address energy sustainability, which begins by comparing your operations to your top three competitors. What is your market position relative to those competitors, and how can we improve it?

Joe Taylor and the Innovation Energy Group have been partners with Prairie Farms Dairy Inc. since 2023. Entering our third year of our relationship, the representation and advisement from Joe Taylor and his team have been invaluable to our organization.

Innovation Energy Group has driven significant savings on the tactical level, negotiating natural gas and electric rates for our organization in a timely and efficient manner. The work that Joe and his group have done has allowed the engineering department to focus on what Prairie Farms does best – producing high-quality dairy products for the consumer.

As the relationship has progressed, Joe and the Innovation Energy Group have begun to assist us in a universal diesel program. I highlight this specific program because it was not a priority for Prairie Farms to pursue. However, Joe and his team put in time and energy to prove the value they could bring in this arena, without a request from Prairie Farms, and execute their concept successfully. This demonstrates that not only do Joe and the Innovation Energy Group deliver on their defined responsibilities, but they also keep an eye out for opportunities, unknown to their clients, to drive additional value.

We are proud of our partnership with Joe and the Innovation Energy Group and look forward to working with them in the years to come.
